Watching This Beautiful Family Grow Year After Year

One of the biggest joys of being a family photographer is getting to witness the seasons of life—not just the changing landscape around us, but the growth of the families I photograph year after year. I recently had the opportunity to capture a spring family session at Granite Park in Sandy, Utah, and I couldn’t help but feel a wave of gratitude as I reflected on how much I’ve loved photographing this family over the years.

Granite Park is such a hidden gem in the spring. The soft greens come back to life, the sunflowers begin to peek through, and the evening light filters so perfectly through the trees. It’s the kind of place that feels effortlessly magical, and it created the perfect backdrop for a relaxed, heartfelt session with a family I’ve come to know so well.

Watching these kids grow—from newborn photos, to toddlers holding tightly to mom and dad’s hands, to confident young people with so much personality—has been such a gift. Their laughter, inside jokes, and comfort in front of the camera made this session feel like a fun evening walk with friends. It’s incredible how photos freeze time for just a moment, letting us hold onto these fleeting stages a little longer.
